Aloha Business Owner

You probably landed here because we’ve met somewhere, someone gave you my card, you scanned my qr code or maybe you even searched for me.  Now that you are here I want to give you a very brief introduction to who I am and what I offer.

CPA, CFO and executive manager.

My career has taken me from staff accountant at Price Waterhouse & Co (as it was then known) through the entertainment, manufacturing, insurance, barter, software, transportation, maritime, and defense contracting sectors of our economy, and I’ve gained experience as an auditor, manager, VP, CFO and executive.

I have actually done the work, faced the problems, developed solutions, and seen my share of successes, mistakes and occasionally a failure.

Why do you need a CFO?

I have paraphrased some of the expert’s thoughts about this question and refer you to an informative article written by and for business owners like you.  Your CFO:

  • functions as a business partner allowing the owner to step away from the books and manage other aspects of the business.
  • will look out for developments with the company, industry and economy, assess how they will impact financials and devise a strategy to deal with the situation.
  • will provide more hands on analysis and insight than can be gotten from the CPA
  • looks at the big picture rather than the day to day transactional accounting.
  • manages the single most important financial area of your business – cash flow.
  • provides a sounding board who can provide the strategic advice as to how a business decision will play out financially in the business.
  • connect the dots; a CFO has an understanding of operations, sales and human resources and can demonstrate the financial implications of decisions made in other areas of the business.
  • provides heretofore absent insight into cost discipline, purchasing practices, cash-flow management, financing opportunities.

Three ways that I can help you.

  • As an interim on-site CFO – when you need me, where you need me with no long term obligation
  • As an off-site CFO – a support function to call on as issues come up
  • As an ad hoc member of your management team to add the CFO dynamic to management decisions that will impact your financials
